Tucked away upstairs beyond the convention center and Chris Angel’s Mindfreak entrance, is the Planet Hollywood Laurel Lounge. Zen! An escape from the madness. This place was extremely quiet compared to Caesars Palace Laurel Lounge.
In the back there is comfortable lounge seating, perfect for watching the big game on the projection screen TV. We were deep in the back of Planet Hollywood and it was a complete escape from the hustle and bustle of downstairs, and the ever expanding lineup of people registering for the next convention next door.
What a cool place to watch the game – although I’m sure it must get busy there at peak times so you better come early. The lounge was nicely decorated, and dimly lit.
The highlight for me was the all you can eat hot and BBQ wings with blue cheese dip, ranch dip, carrots and celery sticks. YUM. There was also a deep fried duck wonton appetizer, along with the standard assortment of cold food and desserts.
There was no Stella Artois at this lounge so I went with a Heineken. This was one of two Laurel Lounges that didn’t have bar seating (along with the Rio), so if you’re the type that likes to sit barside and chit chat, this isn’t it. Your server will bring your drinks upon request, and like all Laurel lounges, there is a self-serve buffet.
There was a bar menu that seemed to be unique to the Planet Hollywood Lounge, so if you’re looking for a specialty cocktail, this is the place.
The lounge was so quiet that after checking with guests if they wanted anymore, the staff put away the hot food early.
I could get used to lounge hopping in Vegas. It reminds me of a fancy pub crawl but the alcohol is free and there’s an all you can eat buffet at each one.

The Planet Hollywood Laurel Lounge was quiet once again at prime dinner time. There were still all you can eat hot/BBQ wings, with the duck wonton replaced with feta and sun dried tomato purses with pesto sauce, a welcome vegetarian hot food option.
For the lounge being quite out of the way, it offered a surprisingly enticing entrance. A large foyer with artwork adorns the entrance before walking down the hallway with celebrity photos.
This was my second Laurel Lounge washroom experience, and it was an upgrade from Caesars, however the entrance to the washrooms was swankier than what was inside. A 2-stall washroom with floor to ceiling doors always make a washroom feel more upper-scale.
Conclusion
I’m really not sure why it wasn’t busier. Maybe nobody knows about it since it’s tucked so far away? Or maybe I’m missing something? This was definitely worth the visit.
Planet Hollywood gets #2 out of #5 best Laurel (Diamond) Lounges in Vegas for its all you can eat chicken wings, big screen TV tucked away in the back half of the lounge to watch the game, and overall atmosphere.
