How to Use Your Amex Card at Superstore (Loblaws) + BONUS: $30 Free Groceries

Last week, we covered the best ways to use your Amex Card at grocery stores in Canada. In this post, I wanted to talk more about how to use your Amex Card at Real Canadian Superstore (and Loblaw Stores) specifically.

Superstore is part of Loblaws, so this hack with Rakuten Gift Card Shop will allow you to use your Amex Card at any Loblaws store.

It will also work with any store Rakuten sells gift cards for, including these Canadian grocery stores:

  • Real Canadian Superstore
  • Walmart
  • Safeway
  • FreshCo
  • Sobeys
  • Longo’s
  • Independent
  • FoodLand
  • Fortinos
  • Provigo
  • Wholesale Club
  • Valu-Mart
  • No Frills
  • Extra Foods
  • Zehrs
  • Atlantic Superstore
  • Dominion

This referral link gives you a $30 cash bonus (once you spend $30).

It gives us $30 back too (thank you for your support!) Leave your referral link in the comments below so everyone wins.

Does Superstore Accept Amex?

Real Canadian Superstore accepts Amex if you follow this workaround:

  1. Buy at least a $30 Superstore gift card on the Rakuten Gift Card Shop.
  2. Pay with your Amex Card to earn points, plus 1% Cashback.
  3. Earn $30 sign up bonus from Rakuten.
  4. Use your Superstore gift card in store.

You can also get grocery delivery from Instacart and pay with your Amex Card to earn points. When you order with Instacart, you can earn 5x the points with your Cobalt Card.
